What Is a CPM Calculator?
A CPM calculator shows how much it costs to display your ad 1,000 times. CPM means cost per mille, and mille is Latin for thousand. Enter any two of total cost, CPM and impressions, and the tool works out the third instantly. Advertisers use it to plan budgets, agencies use it to compare quotes, and publishers use it to estimate what their traffic can earn.
CPM Formula
CPM = (Total Cost ÷ Impressions) × 1,000
- Total Cost = CPM × Impressions ÷ 1,000
- Impressions = Total Cost ÷ CPM × 1,000
For example, if you spend $500 and get 100,000 impressions, your CPM is $5.00.
How to Use This CPM Calculator
- Pick your currency from the drop-down.
- Fill in any two of the three boxes: cost, CPM or impressions.
- Read the third value. It is calculated automatically and highlighted.
- Open the other tabs to compare two campaigns, convert CPM to CPC or CPA, check ROAS, or estimate publisher revenue.
Everything runs in your browser, so the numbers you type are never sent anywhere.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this CPM calculator free?
Yes. It is completely free, needs no signup and works on both phone and desktop.
How many impressions does my budget buy?
Use Impressions = Budget ÷ CPM × 1,000. A $500 budget at a $5 CPM buys 100,000 impressions.
What is a good CPM?
It depends on the platform, audience and season. Use the platform table above as a rough guide, and compare the result with your own past campaigns.
Why is my CPM different from the platform report?
Platforms can count impressions differently or add fees and taxes. Use cost and impression numbers from the same dates for a fair result.
